Usha Kiran Tarigopula – Deputy Director, Global Health Program, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation


Usha Kiran Tarigopula works as the Deputy Director, Global Health Program at the India Country Office of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in New Delhi. Usha currently leads the foundation’s programming efforts in Bihar. She also assists a number of Gates Foundation supported efforts under the global health and synergies between global health and global development. She has nearly 20 years management and leadership experience with large health and development programs in India.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Usha worked with Care—India as the Senior Program Director for the Reproductive and Child Health, Nutrition and HIV/AIDS Program that was implemented in multiple states with high burden of disease. She has also worked closely with the Indian public health programs including the National Rural Health Mission in multiple contexts and a range of civil society, national and international academic, research and training institutions over the years.

Usha holds a Master of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Hyderabad, India.
